The Cape Coral Canal App is provided as a navigation and reference tool for boaters. We respect your privacy and limit data collection to what is necessary for the app to function.
Information We Collect
- Location (optional): If you allow location access, the app uses your device’s GPS to set your starting point or show your current position. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Favorites / Settings: Favorites and basic settings are stored locally on your device using local storage. They are not uploaded or shared.
Information Shared
- Map Tiles: The app loads map tiles from third‑party providers (e.g., OpenStreetMap, Esri, NOAA). When tiles load, those providers may receive your IP address and standard web request data to deliver the imagery.
- Contact Links: If you tap a contact link, your device opens your email app. No messages are sent by the app itself.
What We Do Not Do
- No account creation.
- No analytics tracking or advertising SDKs.
- No sale or sharing of personal data.
Children’s Privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this same link with a new effective date.
